Location: Remote within the UK

Reports to: UK Programme Manager

Duration: Ongoing, with review at 3- and 6-month intervals

Time Commitment: 6-10 hours per week, with flexibility to scale during major campaigns (flexible to UK/US time zones)



Tools & Platforms: Asana, HubSpot, Canva Pro, Google Drive, Publer, Instagram, YouTube, plus collaboration with partners and PR/Press.

UK Programme Overview





Don't Stop Your Future (DSYF) is the flagship UK campaign of the Elba Hope Foundation committed to ending serious youth violence in the UK. DSYF operates at the intersection of advocacy, opportunity, and access - empowering young people to believe in and build a better future. Our mission is to raise awareness and drive systemic change around youth violence by engaging directly with young people through education, creative expression, and community activation. Creative Futures is the Elba Hope Foundation's flagship youth development program, designed to create real and lasting career pathways for vulnerable young people. Building on the success of Don't Stop Your Future (DSYF), Creative Futures moves beyond awareness into action--providing access to creative training, mentorship, and employment opportunities in the creative and green industries.



Position Overview





We are seeking a creative and organised Part-Time Contract Communications Manager to lead the strategic execution and day-to-day management of DSYF's and Creative Futures social media presence. This role ensures our voice remains consistent, responsive, and impactful across platforms -- supporting organisational goals in awareness and opportunities. The Communications Manager will develop and manage content for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, working closely with internal teams and external creative partners to highlight our work, amplify our mission, and engage our growing community.



Key Responsibilities




Content Strategy & Planning

+ Develop and maintain a nimble, month-by-month content calendar.
+ Align social media output with:
- Core campaign moments (e.g., Knife Crime Awareness Week, DSYF campaign calendar).
- Program milestones.
- Mission-relevant cultural observances and announcements.

Content Creation & Execution

+ Manage external creative partners
+ Draft and schedule ~ 2-5 posts per platform per week, focusing on Instagram and Tik Tok
+ Write engaging captions, source visuals, and coordinate with graphic/video

partners as needed.
+ Maintain brand voice and ensure quality and consistency across all content.

Engagement & Community Management

+ Monitor audience responses, mentions, and direct messages across platforms.
+ Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and appropriate responses.
+ Identify opportunities to amplify partner content or mission-aligned news.

Collaboration & Coordination

+ Liaise with internal teams (programmes, communications) to gather content, updates, and priorities.
+ Work with external partners (e.g., designers, video editors) on joint campaigns and activations.

Analytics & Optimization

+ Track performance across platforms and deliver a short monthly engagement and growth summary.
+ Provide recommendations for content, timing, or strategy improvements based on analytics.

+ Communications Planning: Asana (content calendar, campaign tracker)
+ Communications: Slack
+ Email & CRM: HubSpot (engagement, tracking)
+ Design: Canva Pro (templates, visuals)
+ Content: Google Drive (asset management), Frame.io
+ Social Media: Publer (scheduling), Instagram, YouTube, TikTok

Qualifications




3+ years of experience in social media management, preferably in nonprofit or mission-driven organisations. Strong content creation skills (copywriting, basic design, curation). Experience managing brand voice across multiple platforms. Familiarity with Canva Pro, Publer, and analytics dashboards. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate across teams. Enthusiasm for EHF's mission and values.

Compensation, Hours & Benefits






The rate for this contractor role is 25/hr with a commitment of between 6 - 10 hours per week, with flexibility to scale during campaign periods. Reviews will be held at both the 3 and 6-month intervals to ensure mutual fit. We offer a flexible, remote work environment and encourage a healthy work-life balance.
