UK VAT Specialist Role Overview
Lead the preparation and submission of UK VAT returns.
Provide VAT advice on business transactions, contracts, and new projects.
Manage VAT audits and liaise with HMRC.
Monitor changes in VAT legislation and assess their impact on the business.
Support the implementation of VAT controls and process improvements.
Collaborate with finance, legal, and commercial teams to ensure VAT compliance and efficiency.
This role offers the opportunity to work with the wider European VAT team to manage and/or support with pan-European VAT compliance and advisory matters in other jurisdictions.
This is a hybrid position. Coming into the office up to 2 days a week in Coventry
About You The ideal candidate will have:
Minimum 5 years' experience in UK VAT, ideally within a large corporate or advisory environment.
Strong understanding of VAT legislation, compliance, and reporting requirements.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) and VAT reporting tools.
Ability to interpret complex data and legislation.
Confident in presenting advice to senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Experience managing VAT-related projects and process improvements.
