JOB SUMMARY
Connaught House Care Centre is seeking experienced and compassionate Unit Managers to oversea the daily operations of our care facility. The idea candidate will have a strong background in care management, particularly within care homes. To ensure continuity of care to our residents by promoting and delivering high standards of care, individually and safely and supporting, demonstrating and instructing less experienced staff to enable them to fully contribute to the care team.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
? Provides support and encouragement to residents in all areas/activities of daily living
? Ensures the respect, dignity and rights to privacy of residents as far as possible
? Contributes to the assessment of residents needs and the development of individualised plans of care and support, in consultation with residents, their relatives and the Care Team
? Conducts risk assessments with due regards to residents, Visitors and Staff
? Acts as a key worker for an identified resident, or designated group
? Works with the care and support team to deliver high standards of service to achieve planned goals
? Undertakes supervisory tasks as required: coaches and supports less experienced staff and assists with the induction and orientation of new staff.
? Maintains the safe custody, administration, dispensing and storage of medication according to the guidelines set out by the Pharmaceutical Society
? To provide training staff members need
? Monitor staff's participation to ensure the training they are being provided is being put into use, and also to see if any additional training is needed
These duties are not exhaustive. Job holders may be asked to undertake other responsibilities, within their spheres of responsibility and competence
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
? Minimum NVQ level 3 in care or equivalent care qualification
? Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Senior Carer in care and support setting
? Understands needs of Service User Group
? Specific service -related experience may be required
