EXPANDING SERVICE OPPORTUNITY


Royal Sussex County Hospital is launching an exciting new 7-day front door service. We are looking for a unregistered band 5 Therapy Practitioner to expand the current team . The service will run 8am-8pm covering patients in the A&E Department, Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) and Acute Admissions Unit (AAU) . The team provides rapid and comprehensive assessment , work ing within an integrated therapy model creating a seamless service across Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, enabling an efficient journey for the patients.



The Integrated Discharge Team?consists of Occupational therapists, Physiotherapists, Discharge Coordinator and Rehab Assistants. There is a strong multidisciplinary approach on the acute floor with collaborative working across wider professions.

To provide assessment, treatment, and discharge planning for a range of acute medical, orthopaedic, and elderly fr ail patients referred to the FDFT therapy service (Emergency Floor & Department of Medicine for the Elderly Wards) , in acc ordance with national and local guidelines and standards.



To work in collaboration with the wider MDT and health professionals in both secondary and primary care.



To supervise, teach and appraise Physiotherapy Associate Practitioners and qualified physiotherapy staff.



To support the Team Leads and Band 6.



To participate in CPD, IST, audit, evidence-based projects, and service development projects .
