The Care Home Interiors Company is a multi-award-winning, family run business, offering an exceptional design and installation service based in Medstead, Hampshire. We handmake bespoke furniture, curtains and dressing items for the Care Home sector which we then install in care homes around the UK, we are much respected in the industry. You'd be part of friendly, dynamic and closeknit team who take care and pride in the items that are made and installed. The successful candidate will be involved in various aspects of fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of furniture creating beautiful bespoke items.

Skills needed:

- Experience of high level upholstery with the ability to work safely with tools e.g. drills, staple guns, using different fabrication techniques. Enjoyment of manual work and adept at using a variety of tools.

- Excellent attention and eye for detail, thorough, high standards and with ability to work to deadlines.

- Must be able to cut fabrics accurately, pattern match and sew to prevent wastage and delays.

- Common sense, positive with a 'can do' attitude to solve occasional issues.

- Ability to stay calm under pressure.

General duties:

- Working from plans to upholster 'bought in' chair frames which are then padded and cover in high quality upholstery fabric and vinyl. The finished furniture is designed specifically to fit individual schemes, with appropriate piping, buttons and trims.

- Occasional 'repair and refurbishment' work to rejuvenate furniture from Care Homes.

- Occasional driving to/from customers and suppliers, ensuring any related paperwork is signed and correct.

- Making other required items for Care Homes e.g. Headboards, banquettes, foot stools.

- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.

We are a small company and so this is a varied role. Must hold a valid driving license and be fit. The work involved is physical, heavy lifting is required, it involves manual handling and standing up for a lot of the day.

During busy times, for example when Care Home projects are reaching 'site fit out stage', the hours may be more than the usual 36 Per week and you would be required to work 'longer days' during these periods. Time would be paid back in Lieu for any additional hours worked to be taken when the business is quieter, or paid monthly at the standard hourly rate.

Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm, Friday 8am to midday.

Salary: Approx 30,000 - 40,000 depending on experience and skills
