Overview:
A well-established furniture manufacturing factory in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, is looking for a skilled and experienced Furniture Upholsterer to join their busy production team. The company produces high-quality upholstered furniture, including sofas, armchairs, headboards, and other bespoke pieces. This is a hands-on role where quality, speed, and attention to detail are essential to meet customer deadlines and maintain the company's excellent reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
? Upholster a wide range of furniture items to exact specifications and the highest quality standards
? Cut, fit, and sew various fabrics and leathers (traditional and modern methods)
? Carry out deep buttoning, stitching, patterning, and finishing work
? Work efficiently to meet daily/weekly production targets while maintaining quality
? Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth workflow
? Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workstation and assist with general workshop housekeeping
? Inspect finished items and report any material or quality issues
Requirements:
? Proven experience as a Furniture Upholsterer (minimum 2 years preferred)
? Strong knowledge of different fabrics, leathers, foams, and frame construction
? Excellent hand-sewing and machine-sewing skills
? Experience with deep buttoning, top-stitching, and pattern matching highly desirable
? Ability to read and work from technical drawings/job cards
? High attention to detail and pride in producing top-quality work
? Reliable, punctual, and able to work well under pressure
? Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment
