Overview:
An established manufacturer in the Stoke-on-Trent area is seeking an experienced Upholsterer to join their production team. This hands-on role involves the fabrication and assembly of upholstered items--primarily headboards--requiring mechanical aptitude, proficiency with tools, and strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
? Assemble and upholster items based on provided specifications and design details.
? Operate hand tools, power tools, and sewing machines effectively and safely.
? Perform occasional heavy lifting of raw materials and completed products.
? Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised workspace.
? Collaborate closely with colleagues to meet daily production targets.
? Inspect finished pieces for quality, making any necessary adjustments or repairs.
Required Skills & Experience:
? Minimum 1 year of upholstery experience in a workshop, warehouse, or manufacturing setting.
? Skilled in various sewing techniques and familiar with upholstering equipment and tools.
? Mechanically minded with the ability to problem-solve on the job.
? Able to lift and handle large or heavy materials and products as required.
? High attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
? Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment & Schedule:
Full-time, Monday to Friday, On-site role based in a factory/warehouse setting in Stoke-on-Trent.
