Sage is transforming its global digital experience--and user research is central to that journey. As a User Researcher, you'll lead impactful, end-to-end research programmes that directly influence our optimisation, personalisation, and web strategies across sage.com in 20+ global markets.
You'll deliver insight that drives action, strengthens commercial performance, and champions customer needs across strategy, design, and delivery. Working in a fast-paced, data-rich environment, you'll translate complex user behaviours into clear, measurable recommendations that inform decision-making.
AI integration is a strategic priority. While deep expertise isn't required, we're looking for someone with strong curiosity and a willingness to explore its potential. You'll actively explore and implement ways to integrate AI into research workflows to improve speed, accuracy, and impact, setting standards and sharing best practices across the wider team.
Location - Hybrid, 3 days per week out of our Newcastle office.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex qualitative and mixed-methods research that informs digital strategy, optimisation, and content design.
- Translate insights into clear, commercially relevant recommendations that drive conversion and growth.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across UX, Digital, Marketing, Content, Web Strategy, and Analytics to embed a joined-up, end-to-end research process.
- Champion user needs and the customer voice in strategic, design, and experimentation conversations.
- Leverage performance data (e.g. Google Analytics, ContentSquare, A/B testing) and research repositories to complement insights and drive decisions.
- Apply and advocate for human-centred research practices that move from insight to execution.
- Actively adopt AI-powered research tools (e.g. synthesis, tagging, agentic workflows) to improve efficiency and insight quality.
- Manage multiple projects independently, using initiative and sound judgement in fast-moving, complex environments.
- Role model a curious, open, and feedback-driven team culture.
Skills & Experience,
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end research with clear commercial or performance impact.
- Strong commercial awareness, able to align user needs with growth opportunities and business goals.
- Skilled in interpreting behavioural and performance data (Google Analytics, ContentSquare, dashboards).
- Expertise in qualitative methods and triangulating insights with quantitative signals.
- Confident communicator, able to tell compelling stories that influence stakeholders and drive action.
- Hands-on experience with AI in research (e.g., synthesis tools, segmentation, agentic workflows).
- Passionate about user-centred design and customer advocacy in digital delivery.
