SAGA Truck and Van have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Business Development Executive to join their fabulous Van Sales Team in Welham Green.
Saga Truck and Van is one of the largest Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle dealerships in the UK. With sites across East Anglia, Hertfordshire, Essex and Kent, our facilities are staffed by experienced professionals who specialise in providing support to businesses of all shapes and sizes.
Not only can we supply new and used trucks and vans, we also offer an array of aftersales services, including overnight vehicle servicing and MOTs, tacho calibration, genuine parts and more.
The Business Development Executive (BDE) - Vans is responsible for driving sales growth of Mercedes-Bens Van products by identifying and converting new business opportunities, building strong relationships with SME businesses, and delivering an exceptional customer experience aligned with Mercedes-Bens and Saga brand values.
Based from a Saga Location, this role requires a strategic and consultative approach to individual and B2B selling, with a focus on driving field sales. The BDE will work closely with internal teams to ensure customer needs are met efficiently, from vehicle selection through to financing and aftersales support.

What will you be doing?
Sales Generation: Actively prospect and develop new leads within the commercial van market segment across England. Identify and pursue opportunities to increase sales volume and market share.
Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients across England. Understand their business objectives, transportation requirements, and provide personalized solutions.
Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of the commercial van models, features, and specifications. Educate clients on the benefits of our products and services.
Consultative Selling: Employ a consultative selling approach to understand client needs and recommend appropriate van models, configurations, and financing options.
Negotiation and Closing: Negotiate terms of sale, pricing, and contracts with clients. Close sales transactions in a timely and efficient manner.
Pipeline Management: Manage sales pipeline and effectively prioritize activities to maximize sales opportunities and achieve revenue targets.
Market Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments. Utilize market insights to identify new business opportunities and drive sales growth.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and transactions. Prepare regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and market trends.
Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service before, during, and after the sales process. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and professionally.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other departments such as finance, logistics, and after-sales service to ensure seamless customer experience and satisfaction.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will have:
Experience of sales within the automotive industry
Experience of selling commercial vehicles (LCV)
A positive can-do attitude
Business to Business (B2B) sales
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to produce work to a very high standard
A team player
An awareness of Health and Safety procedures/policies
Proven track record of success in commercial vehicle sales or related field.
Strong understanding of commercial van industry trends, products, and competitors.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales management tools.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
