We are currently looking to recruit a

VAT/Payroll Clerk

to support our clients with timely and accurate VAT returns and payroll processing. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of HMRC requirements.

Responsibilities



Prepare and submit VAT returns for a wide range of clients Process payroll for weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay runs Ensure compliance with HMRC legislation for VAT and payroll Set up and manage PAYE schemes and pension auto-enrolment Handle client queries relating to VAT and payroll Liaise with HMRC as required on behalf of clients

Requirements



Previous experience in a VAT and/or payroll role (practice experience is essential) Good working knowledge of payroll systems (e.g. BrightPay, Sage Payroll, QB Payroll etc) Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage deadlines Good communication skills and a positive attitude

Desirable:



Experience in a professional services or accountancy firm Knowledge of agricultural businesses (not essential)
