Vehicle and Plant Manager

This is an excellent role for a 'hands on' individual looking to work within a busy environment for a growing business on long term projects for SPEN and SSE.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for working with vehicles, plant and machinery.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

Servicing and Maintenance

Performing routine service and maintenance on HGV vehicles to meet all statutory requirements.

Undertake maintenance and servicing of various plant and machinery such as tractors, excavators, dumpers, small plant trailers and telehandlers.

Diagnosis and Repair

Identifying and repairing mechanical issues in both HGV's and small plant equipment using diagnostic tools and technical expertise.

Breakdown Assistance

Responding to breakdowns, both at the Workshop and on-site, using the mobile van to provide on-the-spot repairs.

Safety and Compliance

Ensuring all work is carried out to the required safety standards and that machinery is safe to operate.

Record Keeping

Maintaining a comprehensive record system for all items of Plant, including the carrying out periodic safety inspections to all vehicles to DVSA standards.

Experience

A background in plant/machinery and HGV vehicle maintenance, with strong mechanical skills

Computer Literacy

A basic understanding of Windows - word and excel, and an ability to use mobile technology - apps would be advantageous

Additional Duties

Carry out any other duties, as instructed, by the supervisory staff, which are commensurate to the grade of this post.

Qualifications

Required

NVQ or equivalent in HGV/Plant Maintenance

HGV Driving Licence (preferable)
