We're delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced, people-focused

Practice Manager

to lead our three-branch veterinary practice in the heart of Lancashire.

This role is ideal for a confident and emotionally intelligent leader who enjoys

supporting, developing, and empowering teams

, while also setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and driving continuous improvement. You'll balance compassion with accountability, creating an environment where people feel supported, motivated, and clear on their contribution to the wider practice.

The Role: Leading People and Performance

As Practice Manager, you will be the

central point of leadership and accountability

across the practice, with overall responsibility for day-to-day operations and performance.

While senior team members manage aspects of operations on a daily basis, you will:

Monitor outcomes and performance data Review KPIs and operational metrics Ensure standards are consistently met Step in with guidance, coaching, or corrective action when required
Working closely with the Director of Practice and the

IVC Evidensia Area Support Team

, you'll contribute to business planning, performance reviews, and improvement initiatives, using insight and data to inform decision-making.

A Strong People Manager with a Performance Mindset

A core part of this role is leading performance in a

supportive, structured, and constructive way

. You will:

Set clear expectations and goals for individuals and teams Monitor performance through KPIs, feedback, and operational data Hold regular check-ins and meaningful performance conversations Identify training needs and support development plans Recognise and celebrate strong performance and positive behaviours Address underperformance early through coaching and structured action plans
You'll create a culture where people feel valued, supported, and accountable.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a confident and people-focused leader who can positively influence performance and culture. You'll bring:

Proven experience managing and developing teams Confidence in monitoring performance and addressing challenges constructively Strong organisational and problem-solving skills The ability to use data and feedback to drive improvement A commitment to high standards of care, service, and teamwork
A full UK driving licence is required for travel between sites and internal meetings.
