About Our Opportunity





We're looking for a

Vessel Operator

to join our Shipping Team based at our Warrington Head Office. You'll play a key role in managing the day-to-day operation of EMR-chartered vessels, ensuring the safe, efficient, and commercially successful movement of scrap cargoes across our global network.



Working closely with Vessel Operations Managers, the Chartering team, Ships' Masters, port agents, and vessel owners, you'll oversee voyages from origin to destination, ensuring full compliance with charter parties and receiver contracts.


What You'll Be Doing





As a Vessel Operator, you will:


Manage the end-to-end operation of chartered vessels, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable voyages. Act as the key point of contact for vessel owners, Ships' Masters, port agents, and surveyors throughout each voyage. Monitor contractual compliance, including charter parties, recaps, and receiver contracts, addressing issues proactively. Oversee voyage costs, including bunker calculations, hire/freight payments, laytime calculations, and claims settlement. Maintain accurate, real-time operational data and reporting within IMOS, including vessel schedules and voyage updates.

About You





You'll bring a strong operational shipping background and a proactive, detail-driven approach, including:


Relevant experience in dry bulk vessel operations or a similar shipping role. A degree in Shipping or a related discipline, or a recognised professional qualification (e.g. Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers).
