Job Overview
Due to an internal department transfer, we are growing our front of house team! We are seeking a new compassionate Veterinary Receptionist on a full time basis to join our supportive, collaborative team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals, providing exceptional customer service. Your ability to multitask and maintain a calm approach in a fast-paced environment will be vital.
Responsibilities
Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming, friendly atmosphere.
Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's diary efficiently.
Answer client communications promptly, addressing inquiries and asking suitable questions to ascertain the help required.
Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is organised. Communication is key
Process payments and handle billing inquiries with professionalism.
Assist with admin tasks as needed eg insurance queries etc.
Manage the reception area. This involves organisation, cleaning and infection control.
Provide support to the clinical team during consultations by preparing necessary documentation and keeping an eye on multiple areas at once.
Role
This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week, ideally spread across 4 weekdays with shifts being between the hours of 07:30am to 7:00pm.
Saturday shifts are shared equally among the client care team, which currently operates on a 1:4 ratio. This may change based on business needs or team adjustments/expansion. You will then gain a day off the following week, after a Saturday shift has been worked.
Experience
Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is desirable.
Knowledge and experience of client service and confidentiality.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in using new computer systems / platforms for client communication, scheduling appointments and record management is essential.
