Veterinary Receptionist (Part-Time)

Location:

Unit 2 Link Trade Park, Penarth Road, Cardiff, CF11 8TQ

Hours:

28 hours per week, spread over 4 days, including 1 in 2 Saturdays

Salary:

National Minimum Wage (dependent on age and in line with UK government guidelines)

The Role

As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our clients, providing a warm welcome and excellent customer service at all times. Your key responsibilities will include:

Handling client payments and queries in a professional, sensitive, and empathetic manner. Supporting clients face-to-face, by phone, and by email. Acting as a link between clients and the clinical team, ensuring clear and accurate communication. Booking and managing appointments, registering new clients, updating client records, and handling general administrative duties. Managing minor complaints and escalating where appropriate. Keeping the reception area and consultation rooms clean and tidy, and supporting with general cleaning tasks as part of the rota. Promoting practice services such as Petplan insurance and our health plan.

Experience Needed

Previous experience working in a busy reception or customer service role is essential. Experience working in a veterinary practice or similar environment Confident using computers and practice management systems (training will be provided). Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
