We are seeking one full time, or 2 part time, compassionate and organised Veterinary Receptionist(s) to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate(s) will be the first point of contact for pet owners, providing exceptional customer service while managing the day-to-day operations of our veterinary practice. This role requires a love for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate(s) will join a team of dedicated and friendly receptionists, working together to provide excellent client care.
Duties
Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
Schedule appointments and manage the booking system efficiently.
Answer phone calls and respond to enquiries regarding services, treatments, and general pet care.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up to date.
Support clients through difficult and upsetting situations where necessary.
Process payments and handle financial transactions with care.
Handle client concerns with empathy and professionalism, escalating issues to management when required.
Assist veterinary staff with administrative tasks as needed, including laboratory sample handling.
Provide information on preventative care, nutrition, and other relevant topics to pet owners.
Ensure the reception area is tidy and well-organised at all times.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is preferred but not essential.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly demeanour.
Caring demeanor and ability to provide support for clients.
Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Familiarity with laboratory procedures is advantageous.
A genuine passion for animal welfare and client service.
