Veterinary Receptionist/ Administrator

In this exciting role you would be you would be the first contact for our valued clients, many of which have been with us for many years and are like members of our extended family, as well as people who get in touch with us for the very first time. We want you to deliver exceptional customer service, be able to ALWAYS greet our clients with a smile - in person or on the phone and treat them and their pets with affection and respect
In addition to the Reception role you would be overseeing the accuracy of our Family plan accounts. Ensuring our cliens are getting their flea and worm treatments delivered through their door whilst ensuring their direct debits remain accurate.
Your role as a receptionist would be to answer the phone, book appointments, request payments, deal with queries and sometimes be the intermediary between the client and the rest of the team, entering drug orders onto the system and re-ordering stock. Sometimes our clients might be upset (we are not always able to deliver good news) and we need you to be able to stay calm, helpful and supportive during these times.
The role requires a good understanding of common computer programs like Word or Excel or equivalent programs. Your will need to be reliable, punctual, trustworthy, have good team working skills and the ability to keep your work environment clean and tidy. Our patients are sometimes a bit scared and might create a little mess and so you need to be willing to quickly deal with any accidents that might appear!
You would be working an average of 36 hours a week, which will include every fourth Saturday morning. Our working hours are 8.15am to 6.30pm on a Mon & Fri and 8.15am to 5.30 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We work from 8.15am to 2pm on a Saturday.
You will be working with a great team of 3 vets, 8 nurses and 3 other receptionst. As part of the job benefits upon completion of your probationary period you will have access to reduced price veterinary care and food and other items at cost price.
