Northwest Veterinary Specialists are recruiting for a Receptionist to join their client care team based at their hospital in Runcorn. In this position you have the opportunity to excel and enhance your transferable skills whilst working as part of a friendly and supportive team. The purpose of the role is to provide excellent customer service welcoming our clients and pets.

Answer and make calls to veterinary practices, insurance companies and clients with a high level of customer service. Show awareness of financial control within the practice and follow up with clients for outstanding payments. Taking payments Manage and deal with appointment bookings in a professional and efficient manner Queries relating to claims, insurance paperwork.

We have availability for 1 full-time position or 2 part-time positions. Shifts vary in the week. Evening and Sunday work is required every or every other week depending on time type. Full-time working 40h p/w and part-time 20h p/w.


Previous veterinary experience is desirable. This role is suitable for an experienced individual working in a customer service environment being confident in handling payments and dealing with clients in empathetic circumstances.


Who we are looking for

Experience working in a veterinary environment preferred. A proactive attitude that does not need to be constantly supervised. Adapt well to learning a new system if no previous experience. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Highly motivated to provide excellent service to clients and the hospital. Works well within a well-established team and be a positive member of the team. Ability to work at a fast-working pace under pressure. Professional approach to work. Excellent administration, organisational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail. Excellent IT skills - Microsoft (Outlook, Word & Excel)

Following the introduction of Internal Medicine in 2009, Northwest Veterinary Specialists evolved into a Multi-Discipline Veterinary Hospital.
