JOB SUMMARY
Seeking an experienced insurance professional to join its team as a Vice President, Group Insurance.
The Vice President, Group Insurance will play a central role within the Insurance team, managing and mitigating risks arising from our leasing and corporate activities through the utilization of international insurance markets.
The successful candidate will need to manage and enforce the insurance provisions of lease and trading transactions, and monitor compliance through ongoing review of customer insurance, and where applicable, reinsurance certificates pertaining to the company's leased aircraft, engines and helicopters.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Insurance Management

  • Work with cross functional teams which originate, negotiate and close on commercial transactions (aircraft leases, sales and financings) and with airlines and their brokers/insurers on a global basis.
  • Monitor and manage the insurance performance of airlines and third parties in accordance with contractual requirements
  • Play a lead role in the management of large insurance claims which relate to the company's aircraft.
  • Support the wider insurance team as required with various transactions, including deliveries, renewals, sales, and other transactions and projects.
  • Play a lead role in the management of the Group Insurance Services team
  • Work with Chief Insurance Officer in devising and implementing the Insurance buying strategy for the company across all business lines (Aviation, Financial Lines, Property & Casualty and Travel)
  • Work with Chief Insurance Officer to devise and implement the risk retention strategy including the management of the company's Bermuda based Captive Insurer.
  • Development and maintenance of good working relationships with insurance counterparties (brokers, underwriters etc.)
  • Monitor and manage accuracy of insurance related systems data and document storage on an ongoing basis.
  • Participate in various departmental projects and initiatives.
JOB REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Educational/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant qualification
  • Experience in the aviation industry or insurance industry is desirable.
  • Qualification from the Chartered Insurance Institute is desirable.
Technical/Functional
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
