About the Role:

We're building a new kind of science and culture brand -- and editing is the beating heart of it. We need an editor with sharp instincts, beautiful pacing, and a passion for crafting meaning from raw material. This isn't a plug-and-play role. You'll help shape story arcs, build narrative momentum, and bring emotional clarity to complex ideas.

What You'll Do:

Cut short- and mid-form films for web and broadcast (typically 5-20 mins) Work closely with the producer/director and CEO to shape narrative, pacing, and tone Build multi-layered edits using VO, music, motion graphics, archival, and b-roll Adapt content across multiple formats and platforms (long-form, social, trailers, etc.) Bring a sense of rhythm, cinematic flow, and visual storytelling to every project Be collaborative, responsive, and proactive in post -- you'll be trusted with big cuts
What You Bring:

Strong portfolio of short-form or mid-form documentary/editorial work Proficiency in Adobe Premiere (Resolve, After Effects, and motion tools a plus) Deep understanding of structure, tone, and narrative pacing Ability to work with incomplete or evolving assets and still find the story Passion for science, culture, and ideas that matter
Bonus Points For:

Experience in YouTube-first editing or creator-style formats Motion graphics, audio mix, or finishing skills Experience editing presenter-led content or international shoots

Pay: 28,954.00-31,416.00 per year
