Millfield Prep School is seeking an enthusiastic and inspirational self-employed Visiting Flute Teacher to join our thriving music department.

The successful candidate will be an experienced teacher capable of delivering engaging individual lessons to pupils aged 6-13. They should be a skilled performer who can teach a wide repertoire, including Classical, Jazz and Pop, and bring the same enthusiasm to both beginners and more advanced pupils.

We are looking for someone who can develop strong sight-reading and general musicianship skills in their pupils, while encouraging and preparing them for concerts, examinations and other performance opportunities.

Good communication with pupils, parents and colleagues is essential, along with the ability to keep accurate records and write concise reports. The role may also include contributing to concerts and productions, running extra-curricular activities, rehearsing ensembles and undertaking some group teaching. A willingness to deliver class music lessons to EYFS children (aged 2-6) would be an advantage.

This is a self-employed position, initially for approximately half a day per week, with the potential for further expansion for an enthusiastic applicant.

Whether it's swimming in our 25-metre indoor swimming pool, playing golf on our 9- or 18-hole golf courses, playing on our numerous sports pitches or horse riding in our fantastic equestrian centre which features over 120 acres of hacking trails and a British Eventing (BE) cross-country course.
