Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a versatile and enthusiastic Guitar Teacher with a contemporary music background to join our thriving and successful Music Department.


The ideal candidate will have highly effective teaching and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to inspire, empower and motivate students to develop their love of playing and broaden their musical horizons. Essential to the post is a genuine commitment to putting students first and an enjoyment of working with young people.

Experience & Background




An inspirational and encouraging tutor, who can motivate students and encourage an ethos of listening and having a great time making music. The tutor would be working in an enthusiastic and passionate department of highly motivated professional musicians. We also regularly collaborate with the art, dance and drama department in an atmosphere of creativity and artistic vision. A team player with good communication skills, you will have an enthusiastic approach in all of your dealings with students, colleagues and parents.

Duties



Enable the students to perform musically and to achieve their full potential in music examinations, competitions and concert performances as appropriate Facilitate one-to-one lessons and coaching ensembles/bands Organising and rehearsing pupils for yearly Rock Show and Open Mic nights Carry out student assessments and provide written reports Completing any administrative tasks in relation to the post including recording missed lessons

Hours of Work




We can offer approximately 10.5 hours of 1-1 teaching work and 1.25 hours of ensemble coaching per week. There is some flexibility as to when the 1-1 tutoring can take place and applicants are invited to provide information on the days and hours of their availability as part of their application. The ensemble teaching commitment will be discussed at interview.
