Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service in a unique and historic setting? Canterbury Cathedral is looking for enthusiastic and welcoming individuals to join our Visitor Experience team.


As a

Visitor Experience Officer

, you'll be the face of the Cathedral - ensuring every visitor, pilgrim, worshipper, and group receives a warm welcome and a memorable experience. From greeting guests and selling tickets to offering information and supporting retail operations, your role will be vital in creating a seamless and inspiring visit.

The Role

Provide a friendly, informative, and inclusive welcome to all visitors. Support ticketing, admissions, and retail sales using our ePOS system. Encourage donations and promote Gift Aid, guidebooks, and media guides. Assist with events, education workshops, and group visits. Ensure the Cathedral remains a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. Work across multiple areas including the Visitor Centre, Cathedral floor, shops, and media desk.

Please note this is a

part-time

role, working the following weekly shifts:


Friday - 9.45am to 5.15pm


Saturday- 9.45am to 5.15pm


Sunday - 10.45am to 5.15pm

What We're Looking For

A genuine passion for people and heritage. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Calm, mature, and professional under pressure. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Experience in a customer-facing role
