Do you know your HHSRS from your HASWA? Can you bring safety, quality, and care to life in our communities?
At PA Housing, we don't do "typical" - we're here to make things better. Better for our residents, better for our contractors, and better for you. If you're passionate about delivering high-quality homes and ensuring every property is safe, efficient, and ready to become someone's next home - this is the role for you.
We're looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Surveyor - Voids & Repairs to join our Assets team. You'll be the go-to for all things void-related - from initial inspection to final handover - making sure each home meets our high standards and is turned around quickly and cost-effectively.
What's in it for you....
In addition to the salary, we offer a number of benefits, including:
High street discount schemes
Health cash plans
26 days' annual leave, increasing to 29 after three years, with the opportunity to buy more
Flexible bank holidays - take them when it suits you
Car leasing scheme
Hybrid working - offering you the flexibility to thrive in your role. You'll have the opportunity to blend the best of both worlds, spending approximately two to three days per week in the office once settled in the role. This is flexible and depends on meeting cycles and board activity. We also offer an optional nine-day fortnight scheme, allowing you to compress your hours if it suits the role.
What you'll be doing......
We've got the full job profile available, but here's a quick snapshot of your key responsibilities:
Carry out pre and post inspections on void properties using tools like iAuditor and photometer
Specify and authorise repairs, ensuring work is completed to a high standard
Compile specifications and tender documentation for void and repair works
Work closely with contractors to deliver value for money and efficient turnaround
Support the wider maintenance team with performance management and evidence collation
Manage budgets and keep costs within approved limits
Handle customer queries, complaints, and mutual exchanges from start to finish
Ensure health and safety is at the forefront, including audits and legislative compliance
What we're looking for:
We're after someone who's not just qualified - but confident, collaborative, and committed. Here's what will help you hit the ground running:
You've got an HNC as a minimum (or relevant qualification) in Construction or Maintenance and solid hands-on experience in a similar role
You know housing inside and out - from maintenance and repairs to compliance and customer care
You're comfortable using tech - whether it's iAuditor, Northgate, or the Microsoft Office suite
You hold a full UK driving licence and have daily access to a vehicle
You're happy working at height - climbing ladders or scaffolds doesn't faze you
You understand the importance of value for money, and always seek to get the best outcome for the business and our residents
Experience working in social housing or with housing management systems like Northgate would be a real bonus - but above all, we want someone who takes pride in what they do and believes in getting things right for our customers.
If specific qualifications are required, please upload them with your application to demonstrate your eligibility.
At PA Housing, we believe in respect, integrity, and accountability. Our work is about people - not just properties - and we're always looking for ways to do better. If that sounds like your kind of place, we'd love to hear from you.
Sound like a good fit?
We'd love to hear from you. Apply today and help us turn empty properties into homes people are proud of.
