The post is based in Gloucester with regular travel across the whole county and occasional travel within the south west region or nationally. Use of a car is essential
Post involves flexible working hours, with up to one evening per week and one weekend day per month

Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery
1. To develop, coordinate and manage the volunteer and participation strategy
2. To develop and deliver a structured accredited training programme for Volunteers
3. To develop, deliver and co-produce a range of specific groupwork for survivors
4. To lead on ensuring Survivor Voice is embedded in all the work we do
5. To ensure Volunteers feel valued, supported and empowered.
6. To provide supervision to all Volunteers involved in this service.
Management
1. To form part of the Management Team of the organisation
2. To deliver line management and supervision to Volunteers
3. To undertake the responsibilities of a Designated Safeguarding Officer
Service Development
1. To build effective and positive relationships with partner agencies across Gloucestershire
2. To coordinate and manage the recruitment of Volunteers to support in specific ways
3. To deliver initial training of volunteers alongside team members
4. To plan, coordinate and facilitate support meetings for volunteers
5. To plan and coordinate additional volunteer training and opportunities
6. To undertake observations of volunteers
7. To undertake annual appraisals for Volunteers
8. To develop alternative pathways for volunteers to support the work of the organisation e.g. fundraising volunteers
Training
1. To coordinate the initial training of volunteer support workers alongside team members
2. To plan and coordinate additional volunteer training
3. To develop necessary training for new volunteer roles
4. To develop, market, deliver and evaluate training on sexual violence to other professionals in the area with support from team members
Quality Assurance
1. To ensure services provided are within agreed organisational policy and process
2. To proactively maintain professional knowledge and practice and attend and contribute to team meetings

To ensure compliance and responsiveness to child and adult safeguarding policies and procedures
Monitoring and Evaluation
1. To ensure that all service activity is recorded, inputted and evaluated
2. To work to all agreed monitoring and evaluation procedures and to contribute to their continual improvement
3. To provide specific data as required and to write reports as necessary
Communication
1. To ensure effective communication of information resulting in an accessible, reliable and smooth running service for all service users.
2. To promote a positive view of GRASAC with external partners and stakeholders
Other
1. Engage with line management, supervision, training, personal development and wellbeing, using opportunities provided by GRASAC to do so
2. Work in partnership with RCEW and other rape crisis centres as necessary
3. Any other reasonable task commensurate with this post

Qualifications, Training and Experience
1. Experience of supporting, supervising or managing volunteers or paid staff
2. Experience of delivering training
3. Experience of developing, planning and evaluating training sessions
4. Experience of building positive relationships
5. Experience of multi-disciplinary working, in particular, mental health, social care and police
6. Experience of successful project planning and implementation
Experience of working with women/people who have experienced sexual violence
Experience of delivering direct support to people in distress
Skills and Abilities
7. Able to motivate a team of volunteers
8. Skilled in maintaining boundaries and able to support volunteers
9. An ability to work confidently and sensitively with people from a range of diverse backgrounds
10. Confidence and competence to deliver training sessions
11. Confidence in working with distressed people and the ability to inspire confidence in others
12. Exceptional verbal & written communication skills
13. Ability to maintain up to date records and to collate and input monitoring and evaluation data
14. Competence in Microsoft office applications
Knowledge
15. Comprehensive understanding of the impacts of sexual violence
16. Understanding of and commitment to the feminist perspective of sexual violence held by GRASAC
17. Comprehensive knowledge of the short and long term effects of trauma
18. Good knowledge of safeguarding principles
