Are you friendly, reliable, and enjoy helping others? Join Sight Scotland as a

Volunteer Befriender

and help transform the life of someone living with visual impairment.


We're looking for compassionate individuals to support one of our clients for just 1-2 hours per week. You'll assist them with their weekly shopping trip - whether that's accompanying them in person or completing the shop on their behalf.

What You'll Do:

Visit or meet a client once a week (on a weekday that suits you both) Support them with shopping tasks - either accompanying them or shopping on their behalf Offer friendly conversation and companionship

What You'll Bring:

At Sight Scotland, we believe that no one should face sight loss alone. As a Volunteer Befriender, you'll play a vital role in helping someone maintain their independence and stay connected with their community.

Location:

Portobello and/or Musselburgh

Commitment:

1 day per week (Monday-Friday), 1-2 hours
