Location: Based at Weston General Hospital, with travel around South Gloucester, North Somerset and Bristol area
Salary: 23,590 per annum based on 35 hours per week
Hours: 14 per week
Contract Type: Permanent
A full UK manual driving licence and access to vehicle required for this role. Business mileage paid.

Overall purpose of the role
The volunteer coordinator will be responsible for making calls to people who have recently been discharged from hospital or been referred to us from the community to check what support is needed to help them regain independence. We do this by ensuring their needs are being met, whilst if needs are identified the coordinator will refer and signpost to other statutory or non-statutory services to make sure the individual receives the right level of care and support. Insights captured throughout our support are always fed back to the relevant system partners where needed, to support continuous improvement of health and care services.
As a volunteer coordinator you will be responsible for the volunteers within our team. You will attend promotional events with other stakeholders where you will meet new people and build and maintain relationships. You will work in a collaborative way with other organisations to benefit the people we support. You will be the 'go to' person for any volunteer recruitment and onboarding. You will induct and train your volunteers to a high standard to make sure they are set up and confident to volunteer for us. You will be responsible for communicating with people we support and arranging visits for our volunteers daily. You will ensure you are engaging and maintaining relationships with our volunteers and work very closely with the other coordinators in the team and region.
