This role is an immediate start, and we are looking for someone who has a transferable DBS.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated care professional to provide high-quality care and assistance a client who requires palliative care at home. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the client with pain management, making him comfortable during the night and ensuring their safety. Applicants should possess relevant skills and experience in caring for vulnerable individuals.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support with mobility and transfer activities, including heavy lifting when necessary
Administer medication following prescribed care plans and medical instructions
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
Monitor and record clients' health status and behaviour management needs
Implement specialised care plans for clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and any changes in client condition
Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care
Uphold health and safety standards, including first aid procedures when needed
Requirements
Proven experience in a care home, nursing home, or home care setting is highly desirable
Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
Certification in first aid is essential; additional qualifications in dementia or Alzheimer's care are advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
Excellent communication skills and a caring demeanour
Valid driving licence for transportation duties (preferred but not mandatory)
Flexibility to work shifts that may include mornings, evenings, or weekends as required
Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the lives of others
