We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including supported living and home care environments. Responsibilities
Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration
Support individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease through behaviour management and specialised care techniques
Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental wellbeing
Follow care plans accurately and document care provided in accordance with organisational policies
Assist with mobility, including heavy lifting and transferring clients safely
Administer medication as prescribed, ensuring compliance with medical protocols
Support clients with medical appointments or outings, including driving when necessary
Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to health and safety standards
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and case managers to deliver holistic patient care
Participate in ongoing training such as first aid certification or specialised dementia care courses
Requirements
Previous experience in nursing homes, care homes, or home care is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key
Valid first aid certification or willingness to obtain one upon appointment
Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures is desirable
Experience in Alzheimer's, dementia, hospice or senior care preferred
Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility needs safely
Excellent communication skills and compassionate nature
Driving licence is beneficial for supporting clients outside the organisation's premises
Flexibility to work shifts that may include mornings, afternoons, or evenings; full-time positions available
