Waking Nights Residential Support Workers
to provide safety, stability, and reassurance for young people aged 10-17 who may be experiencing trauma, anxiety, or behavioural challenges.

Your Role
As a
Waking Nights Residential Support Worker
, you'll play a vital part in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of young people throughout the night. You'll be both proactive and compassionate, creating a calm and secure environment while responding effectively to any needs that arise.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Monitoring the safety and wellbeing of young people through regular checks
Providing reassurance and emotional support during the night
Responding to incidents or distress using trauma-informed approaches
De-escalating challenging behaviour and following safeguarding procedures
Maintaining accurate records of incidents, observations, and welfare concerns
Carrying out room, fire, and perimeter checks
Administering medication and updating MAR records
Completing domestic tasks such as cleaning and laundry
Supporting breakfast preparation and morning routines
Delivering detailed handovers to ensure smooth transitions between shifts
Participating in all mandatory training, supervision, and reflective sessions
What You'll Bring
Minimum 1 year of experience in residential childcare or a similar care environment (preferred)
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards it
Calm, nurturing, and observant approach with strong emotional resilience
Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
Good understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed care
Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential
