We are seeking a dedicated

Waking

Night Residential Support Worker

to join a 4-bed children's home in Sittingbourne, supporting young people with

Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)

.

The role is focused on providing stability, safeguarding and support during night hours, ensuring the home remains safe, calm and nurturing. You'll play a key part in maintaining routines, supporting young people when needed, and ensuring accurate records are kept for the day staff team.

Key Responsibilities



Provide overnight supervision and support to children and young people. Safeguard and promote welfare, ensuring a safe and structured environment. Respond appropriately to any incidents, behaviours, or emotional needs during the night. Maintain accurate records and handover notes for day staff. Support the running of the home in line with Ofsted standards. Occasionally assist with day shifts (future opportunities may be available).

Candidate Requirements



Essential:



Minimum

1 year's experience

working with children or young people (residential, education, or similar). Resilient, empathetic, and able to remain calm under pressure. Ability to work independently through the night while maintaining high safeguarding standards.

Desirable:



Full UK Driving Licence (preferred). Experience working with young people with EBD or trauma-informed care. Relevant childcare qualification (or willingness to work towards one).

The Home



4-bed children's home Supports young people with EBD Current occupancy: 2 residents (male) Ofsted status: Registration/inspection in progress

Working Pattern



4 nights per week Regular night shifts with opportunities to transition to or add day shifts in the future Rotas planned in advance
