Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, cleaning duties. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being while promoting independence.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary. Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients. Administer medication as prescribed if needed and monitor client health conditions. Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with challenging behaviours. Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties. Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed.

Skills

Experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or senior care is highly desirable. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and general patient care practices. Strong caregiving skills with the ability to provide compassionate support to individuals with varying needs. Proficiency in emergency response techniques. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to manage challenging behaviours with patience and understanding. Flexibility in working hours and willingness to adapt to changing client needs.
