Waking Night Support Workers
to join our supportive and professional team. This role involves providing high-quality, person-centred support during waking night shifts, ensuring safety, comfort, and wellbeing throughout the night.
About the Role:
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting a
31-year-old gentleman
, offering reassurance and consistent care during overnight hours. You will remain awake throughout your shift, responding to needs as they arise and ensuring a calm, safe environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Night-Time Support & Monitoring
- Providing overnight supervision, reassurance, and emotional support, responding appropriately to any needs or incidents during the night.
Daily Living Support
- Assisting with light household tasks, supporting nighttime routines, prompting or assisting with medication where required, and promoting independence wherever possible.
Person-Centred Care
- Understanding and responding sensitively to his individual needs related to his diagnoses, using clear, calm, and adapted communication.
Promoting Comfort & Wellbeing
- Supporting relaxation activities such as watching films, gaming, or quiet hobbies if required during the night, helping to maintain a positive and trusting relationship.
Professional Standards
- Accurately recording night-time notes, reporting concerns appropriately, and upholding the values, policies, and standards of Positive Steps Care & Support Ltd.
Requirements:
We are looking for individuals who are:
Caring, patient, reliable, and approachable, with a genuine passion for supporting others.
Experienced in health and social care (minimum 6 months preferred).
Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities or mental health needs is desirable, though transferable skills and personal experience are welcomed.
Comfortable working waking night shifts independently as part of a 2:1 support package.

Waking Night Shifts:
20:00 - 08:00
2-3 waking nights per week
