Walking Tours are part of Port Sunlight Village Trust's (PSVT) visitor offer under the umbrella of Port Sunlight Museum. You will provide visitors with the unique opportunity to discover the village's significance and history through an in-person tour led by a knowledgeable guide.
Role description:
You will:
Lead a group of visitors along a prescribed route through the village providing accurate and up-to-date information about key points of interest in line with PSVT's tour guide script
Protect yourself and all visitors by being aware of health and safety considerations such as crossing roads, potential trip hazards and general risk avoidance. o Always maintain a warm and friendly disposition to visitors.
Ensure all tours are always kept within their allocated time frame. o Answering questions and signposting for further information where answers are not known
Carry out duties in a manner that always reflects PSVT's values.
Be a valued member of a friendly, proactive and committed team of staff and volunteers in PSVT's Commercial Directorate.
Tour Guide requirements:
An interest in and passion for the history of Port Sunlight Village is essential.
Confidence in public speaking and organising people
Enthusiasm, a genuine interest in talking and interacting with visitors.
Good knowledge of the history of Port Sunlight village.
Confidence with audio technology.
Committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
Punctual and reliable. o Good time management skills,
Proactive with a positive and enthusiastic outlook and attitude.
Good communication skills with both visitors and staff.
Where:
The walking tours are to start and finish outside Port Sunlight Museum, 23 King Georges Drive.
When:
The tour will run from 2.00pm-3.00pm You will arrive 15 minutes before the tour and leave 15 minutes after the tour. Total hours paid: 1.5
Duration:
Walking tours will continue to be part of the Museum offer, throughout the calendar year. Tours may increase to multiple daily slots if the demand is there. The role will be reviewed every 6-12 months.
