The Role



The main responsibilities of the role are to plan and organise warehouse activities efficiently and safely (through supervisors where applicable). As a Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for motivating employees and monitoring performance. You will be ensuring the team complies with legislation and company standards whilst providing a high level of customer service at all times. As part of the role you will budget and have financial responsibilities, including identifying and implementing cost control measures. You will be aiding the Operations Manager in the daily running of the branch.

You will report directly into the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities



Customer Service & Performance:



Ensures a high level of product knowledge.

Checks that quality and accuracy of goods are delivered against purchase orders and delivery/advice notes.

Reports and documents if goods are damaged or whether discrepancies have occurred with deliveries.

Labels and catalogues goods as required, as well as booking goods using Encon systems.

Picks goods accurately from order documentation.

Securely packs and labels goods going out to customers and other branches.

Safely loads all goods onto vehicles ensuring that the relevant paperwork is completed and included.

Advises of shortages or low stock levels when appropriate.

Participates in stock takes as required.

Carries out requirements of Environmental waste streaming in a timely manner.

Acts in a courteous, polite and professional manner with all customers and colleagues.

Promotes a high level of customer service by ensuring correct materials are provided efficiently.

Checks that the customer is satisfied and whether if anything further is required.

Performs tasks safely within stipulated service level agreements.

Compliance:



Follows procedures for securing premises, equipment, stock and cash.

Identifies and raises awareness of staff training needs.

Identifies and reviews legal criteria that relates to warehouse personnel e.g. health and safety legislation.

Ensures legislation is adhered to in the Warehouse.

Raises issues that may impact on health and safety requirements and ensures that they are rectified immediately.

Ensures that the Warehouse employees adopt a clean as we go policy, so the Warehouse space is kept tidy and free from hazards.

Ensures stock rotation is carried out and that shelf life stock is monitored and recorded in line with company procedures.

Ensure appropriate segregation of waste streams to maximise recycling, in line with company procedures.

Ensure a clean tidy and safe working environment is maintained.

Ensure you are familiar with health and safety rules and regulations, and that your responsibilities as an employee, in respect of health and safety are carried out in full.

Investigates incidents and generates reports.

The booking of staff holidays, cover with agency when required and filling out the correct time sheets.

Any other duty reasonably requested by management.
