Job Description

The position of Warehouse Manager will be pivotal in ensuring first class warehouse and shop stockkeeping, cleanliness and logistical organisation at all times.

This role is suited to a flexible and hard-working individual with a personal interest in the marine sector who has an understanding of the type of products we sell and our customer profile. Experience with warehouse management is essential, with Shopify experience being very beneficial.

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the following tasks, as a well as other duties as directed by the General Manager in pursuit of their role:

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



Warehouse Layout, Organisation & Housekeeping



Optimise warehouse layout to support efficient picking, storage, and stock rotation. Continuously review and refine warehouse processes to improve speed, accuracy, and space utilisation. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment. Ensure stock is stored in clean, dry, and well-maintained areas. Oversee general warehouse tidiness and housekeeping standards.

Goods In / Goods Out Operations



Oversee all inbound and outbound warehouse operations, ensuring deliveries are checked, recorded, labelled, and correctly stored.

Ensure outbound orders are processed accurately, packed to standard, and dispatched within required timeframes. Maintain organised documentation for all goods movement to ensure smooth, traceable workflows. Pick, pack, and sort online orders when required, following all SOPs to maintain high customer satisfaction.

Dispatch & Courier Management



Manage daily dispatch operations and coordinate with couriers to ensure timely and accurate shipment of all orders. Monitor courier performance and resolve delivery-related issues.

Inventory Management & Stock Control



Take a leading role in regular warehouse stocktakes.

Maintain a high level of stock accuracy through regular cycle counts and reconciliation of inventory records. Investigate stock variances promptly and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure all inventory data within Shopify is accurate and up to date, flagging and resolving any discrepancies or system issues. Develop and maintain inventory control systems to optimise stock levels and minimise overstock situations. Oversee customer complaints/returns, reduce occurrences, and track trends in the monthly report.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement



Produce a monthly warehouse performance report covering stock discrepancies, returns, damaged goods, fulfilment accuracy, and operational improvements. Use data insights to recommend and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Compliance, Safety & Specialist Knowledge



Implement and enforce company health and safety standards within the warehouse, ensuring full compliance with legal regulations and internal policies. Acquire or demonstrate knowledge of shipping logistics and the safe storage of low-volume and low-grade dangerous goods (e.g., paints, thinners, oils, petrol, cleaning chemicals, marine products)

People & Process Management



Supervise and support junior staff or interns.

Work closely with sales, customer service, service centre and warehouse teams to ensure alignment across departments.

Contribute to planning meetings and collaborate on key projects.

Assist with broader operational tasks when required, particularly around promotions or stock planning.

Have superb interpersonal and communication skills, keeping all colleagues up to date on projects.

Customer and Shop Support



Provide front-of-house customer support, including operating the till and answering queries in person, via telephone, email or web chat etc.

Responsible to the General Manager for maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming retail environment.

Take a leading role in regular shop / showroom stocktakes and assist with merchandising as needed for seasonable promotions and relevance.

Deputise for the Warehouse & Shop Assistant when required, providing support during holidays, busy periods, or absences.
