Purpose

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for developing and leading an efficient, safe, high-performing warehouse that supports the company's distribution needs. People leadership is key -- building a motivated, well-managed team that delivers consistently excellent service. You will ensure the warehouse runs smoothly and safely, meeting quality, productivity, and cost objectives.

The Warehouse Manager plays a critical role in driving operational excellence, supporting business growth, and delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the entire warehouse team from Warehouse Lead to Warehouse Operatives -- ensuring alignment with company objectives and a high-performance culture. Recommend, contribute to, and deliver warehouse objectives, strategic plans, and reviews. Prepare and execute action plans to enhance productivity, quality, and service standards while resolving issues and completing audits. Establish, enforce, and evaluate warehouse policies and procedures, including for receiving, inventory management, stock rotation, equipment utilisation, and dispatch. Optimise warehouse layout, stock control, product flow, and handling systems by analysing workflow, space, and equipment requirements. Proactively monitor operational performance using KPIs and implement corrective action plans for underperformance. Oversee warehouse financial objectives, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and variance analysis. Manage relationships with external logistics providers, develop and review logistics pricing, contracts, and SLAs. Serve as the primary point of contact for HSE, audits and regulatory inspections. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and proactively manage operational risk. Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory and legal requirements. Manage and optimise Warehouse Management Systems for inventory tracking, order fulfilment, and reporting accuracy.

Skills and Experience Requirements

Proven experience in warehouse management, ideally gained within a retail environment, with demonstrable success in improving processes, performance, and team capability. Strong people management skills, with a track record of building, leading, and developing effective teams. Experience using WMS/ERP systems to drive accuracy, efficiency, and reporting. Excellent change management skills and the ability to influence across all levels of the business. Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills. Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and cost control. High attention to detail, initiative, and a proactive approach. Trustworthy, dependable, and takes pride in the organisation, warehouse and performance.
