Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tasks within the warehouse environment, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced setting. There will also be points where you will be required to cover deliveries also covering a large local area.

Duties

Load and unload goods from lorries and containers, ensuring safe handling and storage. Perform heavy lifting as required, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Engage in picking and packing orders accurately to meet customer specifications. Assist in building pallets for shipping and receiving processes. Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory levels and manage stock efficiently. Operate forklifts safely for moving materials within the warehouse (certification preferred). Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse space to promote a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to deadlines. Driving and completing deliveries into customers properties.

Skills

Proficient in loading and unloading goods with a strong understanding of safe handling practices. Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for troubleshooting equipment issues. Experience with heavy lifting is essential, as physical endurance is required for this role. Familiarity with picking and packing processes to ensure accuracy in order fulfilment. Ability to build pallets effectively for shipping purposes. Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures is beneficial for efficient operations. Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) such as AS400 is preferred. Previous experience working in a warehouse setting is advantageous, particularly with forklift operation. Driving License essential.
