For our warehouse in South Wales we are looking for a Warehouse Operative

The sale of a wide and varied product range including round, hollow, flat, square and hexagonal steel, tubes and fittings, as well as angles, profiles and sheets makes us unique. Your tasks:

Unloading deliveries using Counterbalance and combilift trucks, and putting away products in stock locations

Working with cutting lists to cut steel sections using fully automated bandsaws

Ensuring optimum run time of machinery to avoid unnecessary down time

Ensuring all material is labelled and identity maintained throughout processing and storage

Continuous quality control

Marking cut pieces and packing ready for dispatch.

Loading of goods onto relevant transport

Ongoing communication with colleagues and customers to ensure production lead times are met

Adhering to risk assessments and safe systems of work

Your profile:

Knowledge of band saws and crane systems is desirable but not essential

First hand experience with steel long products

We expect you to be able to work in a team, be reliable and flexible in your working hours

This role is physically demanding and will involve heavy lifting, so it is essential that you are physically fit.

Accuracy, quality awareness, great commitment and the ability to work under pressure round off your skillset
