Job Purpose:
Working within the transfer station accepting loads of baled and loose cardboard and plastic film. Baling and stacking for onward recycling.
Sorting and granulating/shredding plastic and other material.
Principal accountabilities:
Sorting plastic and other material
Granulating or shredding plastic and other material
Segregation of plastic film and cardboard prior to baling
Assess loads delivered to ensure as per specification (no cross contamination)
Place various materials into the relevant bays
Weighing the bales for each customer and providing the weights to the Customer Service Administrators
Completing any necessary paperwork
Operation of forklift telehandler
Operation of plant & machinery
General housekeeping of the warehouse and yard
Ensuring excellent health and safety standards are adopted at all times
Loading and unloading lorries
Skills and experience:
Essential
Warehouse/yard experience
Versatile and willing to take on several different tasks.
Flexibility to work within shifts between the hours of 6am and 6pm
Must be a team player
Must adhere to company health & safety regulations.
Driving licence is essential
Counter balance fork lift licence
Strong literacy and numeracy skills
Desirable
WAMITAB Level 2 in Sustainable Waste Management
Previous experience working within a waste recycling company would be advantageous
Telehandler forklift driving experience
Conversant with legislation and compliance relating to waste would be an advantage
Telehandler fork lift licence
