Job Summary:
The Warehouse Operative will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of our warehouse, ensuring that all orders are accurately picked, packed, and dispatched, while maintaining stock levels, health and safety standards, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Collect labels produced by the sales office and ensure they are applied correctly to orders.
Pick, pack, label, sort, and load daily orders onto the relevant courier services using machinery and production equipment as necessary.
Pick and load products for all Wilsons Underlays retail deliveries efficiently, ensuring all deliveries leave on schedule.
Monitor stock levels and raise any low stock concerns with management promptly.
Safely unload containers and delivery vehicles, meeting target times.
Represent Wilsons positively, providing excellent customer service at all times.
Attend to customers visiting the company in a professional manner, ensuring delivery and collection notes are completed and signed correctly.
Take on responsibilities beyond daily tasks, making suggestions to management to improve work processes.
Wear Wilsons branded clothing provided by the company at all times.
Ensure the security of company vehicles, warehouse, and yard where appropriate.
Ensure personal safety and the safety of others while engaged in work activities, following procedures and correctly using machinery and forklift trucks.
Be available and willing to work additional overtime as required to ensure smooth service to customers and completion of daily tasks.
Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others, cooperating with management regarding health and safety legislation and company requirements.
Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by management.
Person Specification:
Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is desirable.
Ability to operate warehouse machinery and forklifts (training may be provided).
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Reliable, proactive, and flexible with working hours, including potential overtime.
Commitment to health and safety standards and procedures.

The ideal candidate will:
Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar operational role is desirable.
Ability to carry out physically demanding tasks, including lifting, moving, and handling stock safely.
Confident in using warehouse equipment and machinery (e.g., pallet trucks, forklifts).
Strong attention to detail with the ability to pick, pack, and label orders accurately and efficiently.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet daily deadlines and targets.
Flexible and willing to work overtime when required to support operational needs.
