Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for various tasks within our warehouse environment, supporting efficient operations and maintaining safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience or mechanical knowledge to develop their skills further in a dynamic setting. The position involves handling materials, operating equipment, and ensuring the smooth receipt and dispatch of goods.

Responsibilities

Managing stock levels through accurate stocking, picking, and packing of items Handling materials safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety regulations Assisting with shipping and receiving procedures, including documentation and labelling Maintaining organisation within the warehouse to optimise space utilisation Conducting routine maintenance checks on mechanical equipment and reporting any faults Supporting construction or refurbishment activities within the warehouse as needed Performing heavy lifting tasks safely, often involving bulky or large items Ensuring all operations comply with safety protocols and company policies

Experience

Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for those new to the role Familiarity with forklift operation is advantageous but not mandatory; certification is a plus Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or AS400 is desirable Mechanical knowledge or background in construction can be beneficial for understanding equipment maintenance and handling complex materials Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods Proven organisational skills with attention to detail in stock management and order fulfilment Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
