About the role
Warehouse operative working across various operational processes including Goods In, Goods Out, Picking, Packing, Loading, Stock Control and various forklift work. Ensuring individual and team KPIs are met and exceeded and supporting management team with answers when falling short. Observing and maintaining good hygiene/housekeeping standards as well as observing and following health and safety guidelines.
Reporting to the Transport and Compliance Manager, you'll collaborate with internal teams to ensure warehouse operations run efficiently and meet business needs.
Key responsibilities
Goods in - the safe unloading of pallets and cartons from supplier delivery vehicles, accurate recording of stock GRN (Goods Received Notes) onto ERP. Ensure stock is efficiently put away into racking
Good out - Ensure pallets and loose cartons are loaded securely on to our fleet vehicles or third-party contact vehicles
Picking & Packing - Ensure customer orders are accurately picked and packed onto pallets or into cages and staged correctly awaiting loading
Stock control - Provide cycle count support as and when required
Undertake miscellaneous forklift truck work as and when required
Maintain high standards of warehouse and yard hygiene and get involved in any deep clean initiatives as and when they arise
Observe all Health and Safety guidelines to help create safe working environment for all
Undertake other general warehouse work as requested by management
Contribute to project work annually to support improvements across costs, quality and delivery
Required skills and experience
Experience in a warehouse environment
Ability to perform heavy lifting
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Ability to work well under pressure and be a motivated, "can-do" team player
Strong communication skills
Experience with warehouse management systems and basic computer literacy
Forklift licence is preferred
What we're looking for
A highly organised, proactive individual with a strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail
Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS)
Familiarity with health & safety regulations and manual handling procedures
Experience in coordinating with suppliers, couriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth logistics
Experience in packaging or related industries is desirable but not essential
Able to work effectively independently, as well as part of a team
Develop and communicate ideas within the team to relevant stakeholders to improve processes within the business
IT proficiency, including use of WMS, barcode scanners, Microsoft Office, and communication tools
