Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):



Job Content / Principle Accountabilities & Objectives



Receive, store, pick and despatch products meeting the established performance objectives and quality standards, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. Operate mechanical handling equipment in accordance with the established safe operating procedures. Complete daily housekeeping duties as directed by Manager. Compliance with Health and Safety rules and procedures. Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills.

Personal Management



No Direct Report. Create, maintain and enhance effective working relationships with peers and work colleagues, both within the department and throughout the company. Operate to high moral and personal standards. Assist in the development of junior department members.

Information Management



Accurately record and store information. Obtain and evaluate information to aid decision-making. Contribute to discussions to solve problems and make decisions.

Job Content / Main Tasks



The jobholder reports to a Stores Manager. The job holders main tasks are to; Unload a range of vehicles delivering stock on pallets/stillages using mechanical handling equipment/manual handling techniques. Undertake specific quality control checks on incoming deliveries. Put stock away to designated area, ensuring strict rotation driven by product shelf life. Replenish picking areas from bulk storage or goods inbound. Accurately pick product onto pallet or stillage. Pick & package individual customer orders to suit distribution method. Load delivery vehicles using mechanical handling equipment/manual handling techniques. Undertake housekeeping duties. Daily monitoring and control of the stock counts and communicating product short shelf life issues to the business. Maintenance of effective working relationships is essential. Create and maintain the necessary conditions for productive work, ensuring compliance with Food Safety and Quality systems and procedures.

Working Environment



The job holder will work a minimum 40 hour week normally Monday - Friday 4am - 12:30pm however the job holder may on an occasional basis be asked to work outside these hours for the purposes of training, to meet specific business needs, or to work as dictated by business needs to fulfill the requirements of the post.

Health & Safety Responsibilities



To take care of your own health and safety. To co-operate with your manager/supervisor, making sure you get proper training and you understand and follow the company health & safety policies. Not to interfere with or misuse anything that has been provided for your health, safety or welfare. To report any injuries, strains or illnesses you suffer as a result of doing your job. To tell you manager if something happens that might affect your ability to work, like becoming pregnant or suffering an injury. If taking any medication that makes you drowsy you must inform you manager and not driver or operate any machinery.

Food safety Responsibilities



Contribute to the selling of safe and high quality products by being aware of and follow relevant food safety and quality policy, procedures and instructions. Report to direct manager any potential food safety and quality issues. Contribute to a hygienic work environment in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Person Specification



Attributes -

Experience , Skills, ability & knowledge & Personal qualities

Essential



Be literate and numeric in English Demonstrate the ability to achieve the competencies in accordance to the requirements of the job Have the ability to physically handle items in excess of 25kg, for which training will be given

Desirable



Have an understanding of warehouse operations would be advantageous, but not essential. Previous experience of using software packages such as word, excel and outlook would be an advantageous, but not essential. Hold a current forklift license would be advantageous, but not essential.

Pay: 25,400.00-28,119.00 per year
