Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Warehouse Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to materials handling, stock management, and shipping and receiving operations within a busy warehouse environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in warehouse management systems and mechanical operations, contributing to the efficient flow of goods and materials. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with prior warehouse experience or those eager to learn and grow within the logistics sector.

Responsibilities

Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. Manage stock levels by stocking shelves accurately and efficiently, utilising warehouse management systems such as AS400. Pick and pack orders accurately for dispatch, ensuring correct items are prepared for shipping. Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and inventory updates. Operate warehouse machinery, including forklifts, with mechanical knowledge to ensure smooth operations. Handle materials carefully during movement throughout the warehouse, maintaining organisation and safety standards. Support in construction-related tasks when required, such as setting up storage areas or racking systems. Conduct regular stock checks and maintain cleanliness of the warehouse environment. Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and meet operational deadlines.

Skills

Proven experience in warehousing or logistics environments is preferred. Proficiency in operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery; relevant certifications are advantageous. Familiarity with warehouse management systems such as AS400 or similar platforms. Strong materials handling skills with an understanding of stock organisation and inventory control. Mechanical knowledge beneficial for equipment maintenance or troubleshooting. Experience in picking & packing, shipping & receiving procedures. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily tasks. Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in stock management. Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks as required.
