Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Warehouse Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling materials, operating warehouse equipment, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within the facility. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience or mechanical knowledge to develop their skills in a dynamic environment. The position involves heavy lifting and requires attention to safety and efficiency in all tasks.

Responsibilities

Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and cranes, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. Conduct materials handling tasks, including picking goods within the warehouse using mechanical aids or manual labour to required quantities. Assisting with the loading and unloading of machines. Packing pallets to customer specification. Manufacturing pallets to required specifications. B1 Counterbalance Forklift Licence required. Overhead Crane Licence required. Manage stock levels through accurate stocking, picking, and packing of items in accordance with company procedures. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety standards. Support stock rotation and inventory counts as required, ensuring stock accuracy. Collaborate with team members to optimise warehouse operations and improve workflow efficiency.

Skills

Proven experience in warehouse operations or related roles is preferred. Ability to operate forklift trucks safely; certification is required. Ability to operate overhead cranes safely; certification is required. Mechanical knowledge useful for troubleshooting equipment issues. Experience with materials handling, stocking, picking & packing, shipping & receiving processes. Physical strength for lifting and manual handling tasks. Good organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure accuracy in stock management. Knowledge of sheet metal industries is a plus due to the nature of materials handled. Pay: 12.21-14.51 per hour
