Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Picker/Packer to join our team in our busy fair trade clothing and gift warehouse. We need someone to pick stock, pack orders, stocktake, help with invoicing and general office work. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that products are accurately picked and packed and prepared for shipment. This role requires a strong focus on quality control and the ability to handle materials efficiently within a warehouse environment. The Packer will play a crucial role in maintaining the flow of goods and ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and accurate order fulfilment. The right candidate will also be expected to help with invoicing and office work. It is a varied job but mainly involves despatch and warehouse work.

Responsibilities

Picking orders accurately from stock and preparing them for dispatch. Conduct quality control checks to verify that products meet company standards before packing. Packing products, ensuring all items are secure and undamaged. Loading and unloading materials from delivery vehicles. Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and assist with stock management. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely shipping and receiving of goods. Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.

Requirements

Previous experience in materials handling or warehouse operations is preferred. Ability to perform quality control checks with attention to detail. Experience in shipping and receiving processes is beneficial. Capability to lift heavy items safely and efficiently as part of daily tasks. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. A proactive attitude towards teamwork and problem-solving is essential.
