Role Summary
As a Distribution Centre Operative, you will be responsible for picking, loading, and stacking boxes as well as putting away heavy items using a mobile scanner and pallet trucks.
This is an active role with heavy lifting, and all tasks must be accomplished while maintaining high standards of safety from the initiation of the operation to its completion.

OPERATIONAL -
As an Operational Team Member, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient day-to-day running of the distribution centre. Your responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular stock checks to maintain inventory accuracy.
Carefully load, unload, and move heavy goods, including sofas, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Move pallets as required throughout the distribution centre.
Receive and sort customer returns.
Pick goods according to order specifications, preparing them for shipment.
Label goods accurately as required.
Handle all materials in a manner that protects quality and reduces damage.
Scan materials into and out of locations in line with company procedures to maintain inventory accuracy.
Operate forklifts safely and responsibly.
Attend Toolbox Talks and Safety Meetings as required.
Adhere to all documentation and administrative requirements.
Operate computer systems according to the company IT Usage Policy.
Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and efficiency.
What do we need from you?
Key Skills and Qualifications:
A forklift truck license is advantageous but not essential
Experience operating and using a wide range of tools and machinery is beneficial.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
Good understanding and experience working with extensive warehouse management systems.
High level of accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Polite, professional, and customer-oriented approach.
Proactive with a flexible approach to work.
Able to handle and move heavy goods safely.
Knowledge of and commitment to safe practices in a warehouse environment.
Ability to follow procedures and maintain high standards.
