Job Description

Purpose




To manage, plan, maintain, develop and improve on all aspects related to the receipt, warehousing and despatch of all products, including those required for Sample requests, replacements and shows.


Note: In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.

Principal Accountabilities



Planning:



Works with the Head of Logistics and the Warehouse Manager to formulate resource planning for forthcoming days and weeks. Effectively plan their areas, producing daily shift deployment reports.

Service Delivery and Customer Satisfaction:



Has an understanding of all KPIs and ensures all targets are met/exceeded. Pro-actively seeks solutions to issues surrounding service and provides the Head of Logistics solutions to challenges. Ability to engage with other departments within the company to deliver business objectives.

Developing and Managing Team for Effective Performance:



Manages individual performances, reviewing periodically in line with company targets. Manages Indirect labour effectively and varies according to volume and changes in the workplace. Identifies potential in team and coaches and mentors them to achieve their career goals. Ensure all operatives are cross trained and that training records are up to date. Conducts disciplinary and grievance meetings in line with company policy as and when required.

Commercial / Cost Management:



Good understanding of the metrics to be achieved to contribute to their functions profitability. Understands how the CPU for each function is calculated. Ability to quickly react to potential increases in Cost per unit (CPU) and apply corrective measures.

Positive Attitude and Working Culture:



Leads by example and manages in a fair and consistent manner. Understands how their behaviour impacts on others. Praises team and celebrates success with the team. Identifies disengaged team members and reacts to their needs and company requirements.

Managing Attendance:



Consistently enforces the company sickness and absence policy. Works with the Head of Logistics and the People & Culture Department in effectively managing staff on long term sick back to work. Ensures that Sickness and Absence (S&A) targets are not exceeded and that team holidays are managed in line with operational requirements.

Communication and Influencing:



Clearly and concisely provides operational updates at the daily operations meeting and when required on an ad hoc basis. Presents peak plans for their areas of responsibility to the Head of Logistics. Conducts relevant team briefs. Ensure that the notice boards in their area are up to date.

Health and Safety:



Contributes to the Distribution and Cross 50 H&S committee meeting and attends as required. Promotes a positive attitude to H&S and works to improve accident/incident stats. Ensures that all accident/incident investigations are carried out and that corrective measures are introduced. Routinely conducts floor walks. Promotes all staff being correctly inducted to the site and that all Risk Assessments are in place and are being adhered to.

Hours




Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 4:30pm


Friday 8:00am to 3:30pm
