Job summary:
Our Warehouse is key to every single job we deliver. This position, as well as being hands-on, will focus on the development and improvement of how we operate our warehouse to improve quality standards, increase productivity, and drive a culture of being the best through everything we do.
The role will be responsible for a specific warehouse function but there will be a need for you to deputise for other areas when required. The role holder will have the focus, knowledge, skill and ability to lead, manage, and plan for the collective workload of the warehouse to achieve our specific objectives. These objectives will encompass productivity and quality.
Central to the success of this role is the willingness and ability of the individual to provide excellent leadership, cultivate an enjoyable workplace, nurture and develop talent, create team spirit, and engage with the staff to deliver a performance culture and a brand they can be proud of.
Key Responsibilities:
Provision of effective leadership to the team, establishing clear expectations regarding responsibilities, behaviours and daily activities.
Identify surplus and shortfalls with team resource and coordinate with other teams to balance resources across all areas to ensure the production plans for all teams are achievable.
Complete appropriate staff timesheets and administrative duties if/when directed by the Warehouse Manager.
Responsible for creating and sustaining a high-performance culture for the efficient running of the running of the warehouse in conjunction with the rest of the warehouse management team.
Be responsible and accountable for the accuracy of a stock control system and an effective production control system for the company assets. This will include additions to and deductions from warehouse shelf stock levels.
Be proactive in identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives, monitoring and refining their effectiveness.
Perform relevant stock checks when necessary and participate in the company annual stock take.
At appropriate times provide resource to receive hired asset returns. Account for assets returned and organise these for production processing prior to stock replenishment or contractual requirements. Notify the appropriate SLX services of any damage to or missing assets.
At appropriate times organise resource for picking, packing and loading of assets either from stock or work in progress as required for each Job.
Manage the team to ensure output meets targets and quality is kept high
When required by the production plan utilise any temporary resource provided to support fulltime team members in productive activities. Ensure the competency of such resource to satisfy any production need and develop such competence when necessary.
Develop a culture that having and maintaining a clean and tidy work environment improves efficiency
Constantly monitor the production and general performance as well as conduct of fulltime and temporary resources. Ensure adjustments are made as required.
Comply with all the relevant Company policies, processes, procedures and administrative support activities as appropriate.
Maintain risk assessments and COSH if/when directed by the Warehouse Manager.
Skills and Knowledge
Have excellent planning and time management skills
Have excellent, management skills to drive a team to be ultra productive
Have a knowledge of technical equipment in the entertainment industry
Be used to working on multiple projects and prioritising activities to meet business needs
Be an excellent problem solver
Be enthusiastic, self-motivated and have the skills to motivate others
Be a "Completer Finisher" and see ALL tasks through to the end.
Have a good attention to detail
Have experience in software packages such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Have strong written and verbal communication skills, confident working with people from all levels of the business
